I don't know the curves used by Leica in their camera.Ī program like Capture One, Nik Silver Efex allow an "infinite" number of options. The key her is to understand that the incamera jpegs are noting more than first a curve applied by the camera at the monochrome level and secondly a curve applied to produce the RGB toned image. I don't shoot jpegs and I've never looked at toning images in camera. Could you please give me a helping hand and provide a Efex simulation with settings that would match the Leica SOOC Selenium Jpeg on Strong? I love that look and really miss having it in Raw. Truman and LeChef you both have late model Monochroms and are using Silver Efex Pro 3. I have saved this as as a Style in C1 and then batch apply this followed by minor individual adjustment as I find pleasing to my eye.īelow with orange filter and the above mentioned adjustments In post I have just played with adjustments which include lifting shadows by 1 stop and reducing highlights by half a stop and adding dehaze up 30% (which I suspect is micro contrast) a small general contrast increase and 30 % added brilliance. I underexpose by approximately 2/3 to 1 stop. In post I am not sure if you are after a specific film type. I will keep my orange filter on for outdoor photography. If you combine the two filters there will be an added effect that I suspect is close to what a red filter would achieve. Similar effect to orange filter but not as even effect across the sky (it may be down to that it was a cheap filter). I also experimented with a circular polariser. For any shot involving sky it is to my eye a much more pleasing DNG file and will make post-processing easier. Yesterday I tested with or with an orange filter, and there is certainly a boost in contrast and more sky pop. I had my Q2M for a month now and I suggest an orange filter
